Productieputten
Productieputten, also referred to as productieputten in Dutch, are boreholes drilled into subsurface reservoirs to extract fluids for energy production, groundwater supply, or geothermal systems. They are designed to access a specific formation and bring fluids to the surface for processing or distribution. Productieputten are used mainly in oil and gas fields, but also in geothermal energy and municipal or industrial water supply.
Construction and completion: A productieput begins with drilling and a steel casing that is cemented in place
Operation and management: Production is controlled by valves, chokes, and surface facilities, and may require pumps,
Environmental and regulatory aspects: Drilling and production carry risks of spills, leaks, and subsidence. Environmental impact
