Prioriteettejen

Prioriteettejen is a fictional governance concept used in speculative fiction and policy-simulation games to model how a society might allocate scarce resources among competing demands. The term is a portmanteau of the French word priorité (priority) and a fictional suffix -tejen, intended to denote a formalized decision framework.

In its in-universe usage, the framework assigns a Prioritétejen Score (PTS) to each task. The score derives from factors such as urgency, potential societal impact, feasibility, cost, and fairness. Scores are updated as conditions change, and available resources are allocated to the highest-PTS tasks first, subject to policy constraints and vetoes from oversight bodies.

Applications of prioriteettejen appear in city-building simulations, emergency-response exercises, and dystopian narratives to explore policy trade-offs. It can support algorithmic decision-making within a game or serve as a narrative device to critique technocratic governance. Proponents argue that it clarifies prioritization logic and reveals the consequences of different weighting choices, while critics warn it can obscure values, perpetuate biases in data, and reduce complex social decisions to a single metric.

Variations of the concept may adjust the weighting of factors, incorporate randomness or resilience criteria, or switch between deterministic and probabilistic scoring. In all forms, prioriteettejen remains a fictional construct used to examine how priority-driven allocation shapes outcomes in resource-constrained environments.
