Preerection

Preerection refers to the physiological state that precedes a full penile erection. It is a natural and often subtle phase in the sexual response cycle that can involve a partial engorgement of the penis with blood. This partial engorgement may be accompanied by a feeling of warmth or sensitivity in the genital area. Preerection can occur spontaneously, as a result of sexual arousal, or in anticipation of sexual activity. It is considered a normal part of sexual function and is distinct from the complete erection required for penetrative intercourse.
