Predostavitsya is a Russian verb that generally translates to "to be provided," "to be granted," or "to be afforded." It is the reflexive form of the verb predostavit' (to provide, to grant, to afford). The reflexive nature of predostavitsya implies that something is given to or made available to the subject of the sentence, often without an explicit agent performing the action.

This verb is frequently used in contexts where a person or entity receives an opportunity, a right, a service, or a certain condition. For example, one might say "grazhdaninu predostavlyaetsya pravo na oboronu" which translates to "the citizen is afforded the right to defense." In this case, the right is not actively sought by the citizen but is inherently granted to them. Another common usage is in relation to services, such as "vozmozhnost' predostavlyaetsya po zaprosu," meaning "the possibility is provided upon request."

The nuance of predostavitsya lies in its passive implication. It suggests that the subject becomes the recipient of something beneficial or a certain state of being, often as a result of external circumstances, rules, or arrangements, rather than through direct personal action. It can also imply that something becomes available or is allowed to happen. For instance, "dveri predostavlyayutsya otkrytymi" would mean "the doors are provided open" or "the doors are left open."
