Pravnom

Pravnom is a grammatical form of the adjective pravni, used in several South Slavic languages to express the sense of “legal” or “in terms of law.” In these languages, the form pravnom appears as a locative (and often also dative) singular ending for masculine and neuter nouns when the adjective modifies a noun in those cases. It is not a standalone noun but a inflected form that appears in prepositional phrases.

In Croatian, Serbian, Bosnian, and Montenegrin, pravni is the base form meaning legal. The masculine singular locative and dative forms commonly appear as pravnom after prepositions such as u (in), na (on/within), or in constructions referring to a legal domain. Examples include u pravnom poretku (in the legal order), u pravnom okviru (within the legal framework), and u pravnom sustavu (in the legal system). These phrases are typical in official, regulatory, and academic contexts.

The root prav- conveys notions of law, rights, or correctness, which makes pravnom a frequent component of legal terminology. Because it is a grammatical form, its exact spelling and use can vary by language and dialect, but the general function remains the same: to qualify a noun as legal or legally defined within a given context.
