Pothuraju

Pothuraju is a Hindu folk deity primarily worshipped in the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in India. He is often depicted as a fierce and powerful warrior, sometimes considered the brother or attendant of the village goddess (Grama Devata). Pothuraju is invoked for protection against evil spirits, diseases, and to ensure the well-being and prosperity of the community.

His worship is particularly prominent during local festivals and Jataras (village fairs) dedicated to village goddesses. During these celebrations, devotees often perform rituals and offer sacrifices to Pothuraju.
