Postkryptografiske is a term that refers to the field of cryptography that aims to develop and standardize encryption algorithms that are resistant to attacks by future, more powerful computers, particularly quantum computers. These future computers, once realized, are expected to be capable of breaking many of the public-key cryptographic algorithms currently in widespread use, such as RSA and Elliptic Curve Cryptography.

The need for post-quantum cryptography arises from the potential threat posed by quantum computing.
