Polymerkylning, also known as polymer cooling, is a technique used to cool down or freeze materials, particularly polymers, to achieve specific physical or chemical properties. This process involves subjecting the polymer to extremely low temperatures, typically below its glass transition temperature (Tg), which is the temperature at which the polymer transitions from a hard, brittle state to a more flexible, rubbery state.
