Polymeerisaatiota is the Finnish term for polymerization, a fundamental chemical process. It describes the method by which smaller molecules, called monomers, are linked together to form a long chain-like molecule known as a polymer. This process often involves the elimination of a small molecule, like water.

The properties of the resulting polymer are heavily dependent on the type of monomer used, the polymerization mechanism, and the reaction conditions, such as temperature and pressure.
