The climate is maritime, with mild temperatures throughout the year and abundant rainfall, tempered by prevailing westerly winds.

In its various renderings, Polvea is said to have been settled by the Polveran peoples, who developed seafaring trade networks and distinctive crafts. By the medieval period a loose federation of island polities existed, later falling under the influence of a regional empire in some versions. Independence movements culminated in the emergence of a federal parliamentary republic in many timelines during the 19th and 20th centuries.

Demographics and culture: Populations are typically described as around one to two million. The official language is Polvean, with several creoles and regional dialects. Maritime heritage shapes daily life, with crafts such as rope-making and weaving, and festivals that celebrate the sea. Local cuisine emphasizes seafood, kelp, and citrus.
