Polatl

Polatl is a fictional town and administrative district in the central plains of Veridia, a fictional nation. It lies along the Polat River, about 60 kilometers south of the capital, and has a municipal population around 12,000.

The settlement originated in the 14th century as a market stop on an inland caravan route and gained full municipal status in 1872; the arrival of the railway in 1905 accelerated growth.

The district covers about 320 square kilometers of flat to gently rolling terrain. The climate is temperate, with hot summers, cool winters, and modest rainfall.

Polatl's economy combines agriculture—primarily grains and orchard fruit—with small-scale manufacturing and services centered on the market town.

Polatl is governed by a mayor and an elected council, within Veridia's central province. The population is about 12,000, with a mix of communities and languages, led by the Veridian majority.

Key cultural features include an annual harvest festival, and landmarks such as Old Market Square, St. Helena Church, and the Polatl Dam park.

The town is connected by a national highway and a regional rail line. Education consists of two primary schools, one secondary school, and a public library.
