Pokrovsk
Pokrovsk is a city located in the Donetsk Oblast of Ukraine. It is situated in the eastern part of the country, approximately 60 kilometers northwest of Donetsk city. The city lies on the banks of the Volchya River, a tributary of the Kalmius River. Pokrovsk's history dates back to the late 19th century, when it emerged as a settlement associated with coal mining. It was granted city status in 1938.
