Platinalääkeaineet

Platinalääkeaineet are a class of chemotherapy drugs that contain platinum as their active component. They work by binding to DNA in cancer cells, causing DNA damage and ultimately leading to cell death. This mechanism makes them effective against a variety of cancers, including ovarian, testicular, lung, and bladder cancers.

The discovery of the anticancer properties of platinum compounds dates back to the 1960s.
