Pingejaotajana

Pingejaotajana refers to a voltage divider circuit. It is a simple passive circuit that produces an output voltage (Vout) that is a fraction of its input voltage (Vin). This is achieved by connecting two resistors in series across the input voltage source. The output voltage is then taken across one of these resistors.

The fundamental principle behind a voltage divider is Ohm's Law. For two resistors R1 and R2 connected in series across a voltage Vin, the total resistance is R1 + R2. The current flowing through the circuit is I = Vin / (R1 + R2). The voltage across R2, which is our Vout, is then calculated as Vout = I * R2. Substituting the expression for I, we get Vout = (Vin * R2) / (R1 + R2). This formula clearly shows that Vout is directly proportional to Vin and the ratio of R2 to the total resistance.

Voltage dividers are widely used in electronics for various purposes. They are commonly employed to reduce a higher voltage to a lower voltage level needed by a specific component or circuit. They can also be used to create reference voltages for analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) or to adjust the sensitivity of sensor inputs. While simple and effective, it's important to note that a voltage divider's output voltage can be affected by the load connected to it, as the load effectively becomes part of the resistive network, altering the division ratio. Therefore, for applications requiring a stable output voltage under varying loads, a voltage regulator is often a more suitable solution.
