Pildistamisandur

Pildistamisandur, also known as an image sensor, is a crucial component in digital cameras and other imaging devices. Its primary function is to convert light into an electrical signal, which is then processed to create a digital image. Essentially, it acts as the "eye" of the device.

There are two main types of pildistamisandur: CCD (Charge-Coupled Device) and CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor). CCD sensors were historically dominant due to their superior image quality and low noise, particularly in low light conditions. However, CMOS sensors have rapidly advanced and now often surpass CCDs in terms of speed, power efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. CMOS sensors also allow for integration of additional functions onto the same chip, leading to smaller and more versatile devices.

The pildistamisandur is made up of millions of tiny light-sensitive elements called pixels. When light strikes a pixel, it generates an electrical charge proportional to the intensity of the light. This charge is then read out and converted into digital data. The resolution of an image sensor, measured in megapixels, indicates the total number of pixels it contains, directly influencing the level of detail in the captured image. Factors such as pixel size, sensor type, and image processing algorithms all contribute to the final image quality.
