Pildilistele

Pildilistele is an Estonian grammatical form used in describing adjectives that modify plural nouns in the allative case. It is the allative plural inflection of the adjective pildiline (meaning “picture-like” or “image-based”). In Estonian, adjectives agree with the nouns they modify in number and case; the allative plural ending for adjectives takes the form -listele, yielding pildilistele. The function of this form is to express direction toward or for a group characterized as image-based or picture-like, for example when the phrase as a whole is in the allative case, such as in constructions that mean “to the image-based ones” or “for the image-based items.”

In practice, pildilistele is primarily encountered in linguistic descriptions, grammar references, or in examples illustrating case agreement; it is not a standalone lexical item and does not carry a separate meaning beyond the inflected adjective. In everyday Estonian, speakers typically use the noun–adjective combination in appropriate cases without isolating the inflected form.
