Photoperceptive refers to the ability of an organism or a biological system to detect and respond to light. This sensitivity to light is crucial for a wide range of life processes, from the simplest microorganisms to complex multicellular organisms. In plants, photoperception is fundamental for photosynthesis, the process by which light energy is converted into chemical energy.
