Phosphoenzymes

Phosphoenzymes are a class of enzymes that catalyze the transfer of phosphate groups from high-energy donor molecules, such as adenosine triphosphate (ATP), to specific substrates. This process, known as phosphorylation, is a fundamental mechanism in cellular regulation, influencing enzyme activity, signal transduction, and metabolic pathways.

These enzymes are integral to various biological functions, including the regulation of cell signaling pathways, energy metabolism, and the modification of proteins. They play a crucial role in processes such as muscle contraction, cellular growth, and differentiation.
