PhSnMe3
PhSnMe3, also known as phenyltrimethylstannane, is an organotin compound in which tin is bonded to one phenyl group and three methyl groups. Its molecular formula is C9H14Sn. The tin center is tetravalent and the molecule has a roughly tetrahedral arrangement of Sn–C bonds.
In naming and classification terms, PhSnMe3 is a tetravalent organostannane with four carbon substituents around tin:
Applications and reactivity: PhSnMe3 can serve as a synthetic building block and as a source of aryl
Synthesis: General organotin methodologies apply, such as installation of the phenyl group onto a trimethylstannyl fragment
Safety: Organotin compounds can be toxic and environmentally persistent. Handling should follow standard laboratory safety practices,
