Perekonda

Perekonda is a coastal town and municipality in the fictional region of Lendoria. It lies along the Peren River and the Gulf of Nara, with a population of about 12,000. The town functions as a local services center for surrounding rural communities and serves as a minor shipping point.

The name Perekonda is derived from the local language, where pere means water and konda means hill, referencing the town’s geography.

Perekonda covers a coastal plain with rolling hills inland. It has a temperate maritime climate, with wet winters and mild summers.

Founded in the 12th century by agrarian settlers, Perekonda grew as a fishing port in the 16th century. It gained municipal status in 1893 and later diversified into light manufacturing and tourism.

The town is governed by a mayor and a six-member council. Its economy centers on agriculture (citrus and vegetables), fishing, and small-scale manufacturing, with tourism focused on waterfront and nature trails.

The population is about 12,000. The community is bilingual in the local language and the national language. Local culture includes the autumn Harvest Festival and harbor celebrations.

Roads connect to regional networks via RN-12, with a regional bus service. Education includes Perekonda Community College and Perekonda Academy. The harbor includes a small marina and cargo wharf.

Notable residents include writer Lira Nesh and former captain Jovan Mirov.
