Perdido

Perdido is a Spanish adjective and noun meaning “lost” or “missing.” It is the masculine singular past participle of perder, the verb “to lose.” In modern Spanish, perdido describes something or someone that has been lost, and it appears in common phrases such as “Estoy perdido” (I am lost).

In geography, Perdido appears in several place names along the Gulf Coast of the United States, often reflecting historical or local naming. Notable examples include the Perdido River, which forms part of the Alabama–Florida border and feeds Perdido Bay, and Perdido Key, a barrier island near Pensacola, Florida.
