Pelehuke
Pelehuke is a small agricultural community located in the southern part of the province of Manitoba, Canada. The settlement lies approximately 20 kilometres southeast of Steinbach and is situated along the St. Peter’s River. Historically, the area was first settled by Mennonite immigrants in the late 19th century, many of whom arrived from German-speaking regions of Eastern Europe. The name “Pelehuke” is believed to derive from a German phrase meaning “peaceful home,” reflecting the early settlers’ aspirations.
