Pegivirus
Pegivirus is a genus of viruses in the order Picornavirales, family Marnaviridae. These are single-stranded, positive-sense RNA viruses. The name "Pegivirus" is derived from "Picornavirus-like" and "hepatitis G virus," reflecting their initial association with the hepatitis G virus, which was later reclassified as a pegivirus.
Pegiviruses are known to infect a variety of mammalian hosts, including humans, bats, rodents, and non-human
Transmission routes for pegiviruses are not fully understood but are suspected to include parenteral (e.g., bloodborne)
