Passeringspunktet

Passeringspunktet is a term used in Norwegian and Swedish to denote the point at which something passes through or crosses a boundary or reference. The word combines passering ('passing') and punkt ('point'), with the definite form passeringspunktet in Norwegian and Swedish.

In geography and urban planning, the term may describe a route's crossing point, such as a mountain pass, a river crossing, or a transit junction along a corridor. It can also refer to the point at which a watershed or political/administrative boundary is crossed on a transport path.

In mathematics and physics, passeringspunkt is sometimes used informally to refer to a crossing point where a variable crosses a threshold (for example a zero-crossing). However, in technical writing, more specific terms such as zero crossing, threshold, or boundary value are usually preferred.
