Parenzo
Parenzo, known in Italian as Parenzo and in Croatian as Poreč, is a town and municipality in Istria County, western Croatia. It lies on the western coast of the Istrian peninsula, on a small peninsula projecting into the Adriatic Sea and forming a sheltered bay. The historic core preserves Roman, Byzantine, and Venetian influences and remains a major draw for visitors.
Historically, the site was the Roman settlement of Parentium and grew as a bishopric in late antiquity.
