Parenchimák

Parenchimák, or parenchyma, refers to a type of plant tissue composed of thin-walled, loosely packed cells that are responsible for various functions within the plant body. These cells are typically found in the soft, spongy parts of plants, such as the cortex, pith, and mesophyll, and are characterized by their ability to divide and differentiate into other cell types.

For instance, palisade parenchyma cells are elongated and tightly packed in the upper layers of leaves to maximize light absorption, while spongy parenchyma cells are more loosely arranged in the lower layers to facilitate gas exchange.
