The choice of paper or substrate significantly affects how a spot color appears, which is why Pantone provides separate guides for coated and uncoated papers. Printers use a Pantone formula guide to mix the precise ink required for a specific spot color. This method guarantees a higher level of color accuracy and vibrancy compared to standard process printing.
