Pangean

Pangean refers to anything related to Pangea, the supercontinent that existed during the late Paleozoic and early Mesozoic eras. It is estimated to have formed around 335 million years ago and began to break apart about 175 million years ago. The name Pangea is derived from the Greek words pan, meaning "all," and Gaia, meaning "Earth."

The existence of Pangea is a cornerstone of the theory of plate tectonics, supported by extensive geological and paleontological evidence. This evidence includes the matching of geological formations and mountain ranges across continents that are now widely separated, as well as the distribution of fossilized plants and animals that could not have crossed vast oceans.

The breakup of Pangea led to the formation of the Atlantic Ocean and the eventual configuration of the continents as we know them today. This continental drift significantly influenced global climate patterns, ocean currents, and the evolution and distribution of life on Earth.
