Paleontológia

Paleontológia is the scientific study of life that existed prior to, and in some cases at the beginning of, the Holocene epoch. It is an interdisciplinary science that draws on geology, biology, and archaeology. Paleontologists examine fossils, which are the preserved remains or traces of ancient organisms, to understand the history of life on Earth, including the evolution of species, the reconstruction of ancient environments, and the study of extinct organisms.

The fossil record provides evidence of life forms that are no longer alive today, such as dinosaurs, trilobites, and ammonites. Techniques used in paleontology involve excavation, classification, dating of fossils using radiometric and stratigraphic methods, and the reconstruction of ancient ecosystems. The findings of paleontology contribute significantly to our understanding of evolution, biodiversity, and the Earth's past.
