Paleoklimaisia is a term derived from the Greek words "palaios" meaning ancient and "klima" meaning climate. It refers to the study of Earth's past climates. This field of paleoclimatology seeks to understand the variations in climate over geological time scales, ranging from thousands to millions of years ago. By analyzing various proxy records, scientists can reconstruct past climatic conditions, such as temperature, precipitation, atmospheric composition, and ocean circulation patterns.
