Painelähettimet, known in English as pressure transmitters or pressure transducers, are devices that measure the pressure of a fluid or gas and convert it into an electrical signal. This signal can then be used for monitoring, control, or recording purposes. They are essential components in a wide range of industrial, commercial, and scientific applications.

The fundamental principle behind most pressure transmitters involves a sensing element that deforms under pressure. This deformation is then detected and converted into a standardized electrical output, typically a voltage or current. Common sensing technologies include strain gauges, capacitive sensors, and piezoresistive elements. The choice of technology often depends on factors such as accuracy requirements, operating temperature range, and the type of fluid being measured.

Pressure transmitters are designed to withstand various environmental conditions and are available in numerous configurations. They can measure absolute pressure (relative to a perfect vacuum), gauge pressure (relative to atmospheric pressure), or differential pressure (the difference between two pressures). Applications range from monitoring fuel pressure in vehicles and blood pressure in medical devices to controlling processes in chemical plants and measuring atmospheric pressure in weather stations. Their reliability and accuracy are crucial for ensuring safety, efficiency, and proper functioning of many systems.
