Paineenlähteet

Paineenlähteet refers to sources of pressure in Finnish. This term can encompass a wide variety of phenomena and systems where pressure is generated or exerted. In physics and engineering, pressure is defined as force applied perpendicular to the surface of an object per unit area over which that force is distributed. Therefore, a paineenlähde is anything that produces such a force.

Common examples of paineenlähteet include mechanical systems like pumps, compressors, and hydraulic cylinders, which actively increase fluid pressure. Natural phenomena also serve as pressure sources. Atmospheric pressure, for instance, is a result of the weight of the air in the Earth's atmosphere pressing down on the surface. Conversely, expansion of a gas can lead to a decrease in pressure.
