Paineanturityyppejä refers to the different types of pressure regulators. These devices are essential components in pneumatic and hydraulic systems, controlling and maintaining a desired pressure level. Without them, systems could experience fluctuations that would impact performance, safety, and efficiency.

One common type is the direct-acting pressure regulator. These regulators use a spring to exert force on a diaphragm, which in turn controls a valve. When system pressure rises above the set point, it pushes against the diaphragm, overcoming the spring force and closing the valve, thus reducing pressure. Conversely, if pressure drops, the spring force opens the valve to allow more fluid or gas into the system.

Another category includes pilot-operated pressure regulators. These are more complex and use a smaller, primary regulator (the pilot) to control the main valve. The pilot regulator senses the downstream pressure and adjusts a small control pressure that acts on the main valve. This design allows for greater precision and the ability to handle higher flow rates and pressures compared to direct-acting regulators.

Relief regulators are designed to protect systems from over-pressurization. They are typically set at a maximum allowable pressure and will open to vent excess fluid or gas if that limit is exceeded. This prevents damage to equipment and ensures safe operation. Back-pressure regulators, also known as back-pressure valves, are used to maintain a specific minimum pressure in a system. They resist flow until a certain pressure is reached, effectively creating a back-pressure.
