Paimenkoirat

Paimenkoirat is a traditional Finnish coat pattern identified through a specialized coat marking system for dogs. The name "paimenkoirat" roughly translates to "sheepdog" or "shepherd dog" in Finnish. This coat pattern is associated with specific wolf-like markings, black spots and tan areas, that are centered around the neck.

The pattern is felt to resemble the ancestry of these Finnish breeds to wolves. A combination of black, gray, and tan marking give a wolf-like appearance.
