PRphericals

PRphericals are a hypothetical class of celestial objects that combine characteristics of both planets and stars, theorized to exist in the universe. The name itself is a portmanteau of "planet" and "spherical," suggesting a form that is both planetary in its composition or formation and possibly exhibiting stellar qualities.

The core concept behind PRphericals is that they might represent transitional stages in stellar evolution or unique formations not accounted for by current astronomical models. One proposed idea is that they could be massive planets that have accreted enough material to initiate some form of low-level nuclear fusion, but not enough to become true stars. Alternatively, they might be substellar objects that are too massive to be considered planets but lack the mass and temperature to ignite hydrogen fusion as main-sequence stars do.

Another theoretical avenue suggests that PRphericals could be very young or very old objects where their internal processes are distinct from typical planets or stars. For instance, they might be objects still in the process of formation from a protoplanetary disk, where their mass and internal heat are significant but not yet sufficient for sustained stellar fusion. Conversely, they could be remnants of stars that have undergone significant mass loss, shrinking to a size and internal state that blurs the line between planetary and stellar classification.

The existence of PRphericals remains speculative. Current observational capabilities are largely designed to distinguish between planets and stars based on well-defined criteria such as mass, temperature, and the presence of nuclear fusion. Detecting an object with intermediate characteristics would require advancements in observational technology and potentially a refinement of our definitions of planets and stars. The theoretical exploration of such objects, however, contributes to a broader understanding of the diversity of celestial bodies that may populate the cosmos.
