PLEKHO1

PLEKHO1, also known as pleckstrin homology domain containing O1, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the PLEKHO1 gene. This gene belongs to the pleckstrin homology (PH) domain containing family, which plays a crucial role in various cellular processes.

The protein encoded by PLEKHO1 is involved in the regulation of actin cytoskeleton dynamics. It interacts with various proteins, including those involved in cell adhesion, signaling, and motility. The PLEKHO1 gene is located on the long arm of chromosome 1 (1q21.3). It consists of 12 exons and spans approximately 150 kilobases of DNA. The protein product of PLEKHO1 is a 1,200-kDa protein that contains a PH domain, a PDZ domain, and a C-terminal coiled-coil domain.
