3. Certificate Revocation List (CRL): The CRL is a list of certificates that have been revoked by the CA before their expiration date. It helps ensure that revoked certificates are not accepted for secure communication.

4. Certificate Management System: This system manages the lifecycle of certificates, including issuance, renewal, and revocation.

PKI is widely used in various applications, including secure email, secure web browsing (HTTPS), virtual private networks (VPNs), and digital signatures. It provides a robust and scalable solution for securing communications in an increasingly digital world. However, PKI also has its challenges, such as the need for secure key management and the potential for certificate revocation issues.
