PEMDASBODMASte is a mnemonic device used in mathematics to help students remember the order of operations. This order dictates the sequence in which mathematical calculations should be performed to ensure a consistent and correct result. The acronym combines elements of two common mnemonics: PEMDAS and BODMAS.

PEMDAS stands for Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication and Division (from left to right), and Addition and Subtraction (from left to right). BODMAS stands for Brackets, Orders (powers and square roots), Division and Multiplication (from left to right), and Addition and Subtraction (from left to right). The "TE" at the end of PEMDASBODMASte is sometimes added to emphasize that the "and" in the phrases is also important, or to further stress the left-to-right rule for multiplication/division and addition/subtraction.

The core principle behind these mnemonics is that certain operations take precedence over others. Parentheses or brackets are always evaluated first, followed by exponents or orders. Then, multiplication and division are performed in the order they appear from left to right. Finally, addition and subtraction are carried out, also from left to right. This consistent application ensures that complex mathematical expressions are solved unambiguously.
