Päästeametile

Päästeamet is the Estonian Rescue Board, the national authority responsible for rescue operations, fire safety, and civil protection in Estonia. Its primary mission is to ensure the safety and well-being of the Estonian population by preventing accidents, responding to emergencies, and mitigating the consequences of disasters. Päästeamet operates under the Ministry of the Interior.

The organization is responsible for a wide range of activities. This includes responding to fires, natural disasters, traffic accidents, industrial accidents, and other emergency situations. Päästeamet also plays a crucial role in promoting fire and rescue awareness among the public, conducting inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations, and developing and implementing policies related to emergency preparedness.

Päästeamet is structured into regional rescue centers and specialized units that cover the entire country. It works closely with other emergency services, including the police and ambulance services, as well as local governments and other stakeholders, to coordinate rescue efforts and provide comprehensive emergency response. The agency also engages in international cooperation and participates in joint exercises and missions.
