Ozoneforming refers to the chemical processes by which ozone (O3) is created. In the Earth's atmosphere, ozone is primarily formed in the stratosphere through a photochemical reaction. Ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun strikes oxygen molecules (O2), breaking them apart into individual oxygen atoms (O). These highly reactive oxygen atoms then combine with other oxygen molecules to form ozone.
