Oyssä

Oyssä is a fictional municipality in the northern coastal region of Nordlandia, created for illustrative purposes. It lies on a rocky peninsula with forests inland and a sheltered harbor on a temperate coast. The population is about 3,200 and the area covers roughly 52 square kilometers.

Oyssä is first mentioned in records dating to 1284. It grew around a fishing harbor and gained municipal rights in the 19th century. In the late 20th century it merged with nearby villages but retains a distinct local government.
