Overtryksventiler

Overtryksventiler, also known as pressure relief valves or safety valves, are mechanical devices designed to protect pressure vessels and piping systems from over-pressurization. They automatically open when the pressure inside a system exceeds a predetermined safety limit, releasing excess fluid (liquid or gas) to the atmosphere or a designated collection system. This action prevents catastrophic failures such as explosions or ruptures.

The fundamental principle of operation involves a spring-loaded disc or plug held against a valve seat by the force of a spring. When the internal pressure of the system overcomes the spring force, the disc lifts, allowing fluid to escape. As the pressure drops below the set point, the spring force reseats the disc, closing the valve.
