Otley

Otley is a market town and civil parish in West Yorkshire, England. It is situated in the lower Wharfe Valley, around 10 miles north of Leeds and 7 miles east of Bradford. The town is known for its historic market which has been held for centuries. Otley has a population of approximately 15,000 people.

The town's origins can be traced back to Anglo-Saxon times. Otley Castle, a motte-and-bailey castle, was built by the Normans in the 11th century, though little remains of it today. The parish church, All Saints' Church, is a notable medieval building with a rich history. Otley became an important centre for wool trading and later for printing during the Industrial Revolution.

Otley is surrounded by attractive countryside, including the Chevin, a prominent ridge offering panoramic views. The River Wharfe flows through the town, providing recreational opportunities.
