Osakeidän
Osakeidän is a Finnish term that translates to "stock split" in English. A stock split is a corporate action in which a company divides its existing shares into multiple shares. For example, in a 2-for-1 stock split, each shareholder would receive two shares for every one share they held previously. This action does not change the overall market capitalization of the company or the total value of an investor's holdings; it simply increases the number of outstanding shares and reduces the price per share proportionally.
Companies typically undertake stock splits to make their shares more accessible to a wider range of investors.
