Ortés

Ortés is a municipality in the province of Zaragoza, in the autonomous community of Aragon, Spain. It is part of the comarca of Tarazona y el Moncayo and is located in the northeastern part of the province, inland from the Ebro Valley. The municipality covers a small rural area characterized by farmland and modest hills and forms part of a landscape typical of the Aragonese countryside.

The local economy is predominantly agricultural, with cereals and vineyards among the main crops, and livestock farming also present. Residential areas are concentrated in a village center, with surrounding countryside used for farming and pasture.

Ortés has medieval origins as a rural settlement in the historical Kingdom of Aragon and today preserves traces typical of small Aragonese towns, including a parish church and traditional architecture. The population is small and has followed the general trend of rural areas in the region, with modest fluctuations and aging demographics.

The municipality is administered by a ayuntamiento (town council) led by an alcalde (mayor). It participates in intermunicipal coordination within the comarca and the wider Zaragoza province, and is served by regional roads connecting it to nearby towns and services.
