Orrorals
Orrorals is a genus of small, flightless birds native to Australia. These birds are part of the rail family, Rallidae, and are characterized by their short wings, strong legs, and sexually dimorphic plumage. The genus currently comprises two recognized species. The Buff-banded Rail, Gallirallus philippensis, was formerly considered to be part of the Orrorals genus, but genetic studies have led to its reclassification. The remaining species are the Lord Howe Woodhen, Hypotaenidia sylvestris, and the New Caledonian Rail, Hypotaenidia dieffenbachii, both of which are critically endangered.
