Orrnyálkahártyával

Orrnyálkahártyával refers to the mucous membrane lining the nasal cavity. This specialized tissue plays a crucial role in the respiratory system by moistening inhaled air, trapping dust and pathogens, and warming the air before it reaches the lungs. The surface of the orrnyálkahártyával is covered with cilia, which are tiny hair-like structures that beat rhythmically to move mucus and trapped particles towards the throat to be swallowed or expelled.

This mucous membrane contains numerous blood vessels that help to warm the incoming air. It also houses olfactory receptors, responsible for the sense of smell, which are embedded within the epithelium. The constant production of mucus by goblet cells within the orrnyálkahártyával is essential for its protective and humidifying functions.

Inflammation of the orrnyálkahártyával, known as rhinitis, can be caused by allergies, infections (viral or bacterial), or irritants. This inflammation can lead to symptoms such as nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, and loss of smell. The health of the orrnyálkahártyával is therefore vital for maintaining respiratory health and overall well-being.
