Orléansproces
The Orléansprocess refers to the trial and subsequent execution of Joan of Arc, a peasant girl who claimed divine guidance, in 1431. The trial took place in Rouen, France, which was then under English control. Joan had played a pivotal role in lifting the Siege of Orléans and subsequently helped lead French forces to victory at the Battle of Patay, significantly boosting French morale during the Hundred Years' War.
The trial was politically motivated, orchestrated by English and Burgundian allies who sought to discredit Joan
Despite her youth and lack of formal education, Joan defended herself with remarkable intelligence and resilience.
On May 30, 1431, Joan of Arc was burned at the stake in the marketplace of Rouen.
