Oringis is a fictional city-state and the capital of the Orinian League in the fantasy world of Lysanor. Located at the mouth of the Velia River along the western coast, it has long served as a major maritime hub and entrepôt for goods moving between inland regions and distant markets. The name is thought to derive from Old Orinian roots meaning sea-origin, though etymologies vary by tradition.

History: Oringis was founded by seafaring clans in the early Bronze Age and grew into a coastal republic governed by merchant families in the medieval era. Through successive trade alliances and naval power, it expanded its influence and maintained independence during regional upheavals. A period of industrialization in the late 18th and early 19th centuries introduced mechanized shipyards and clockwork workshops, shaping its urban development.
