Organessonine is a hypothetical chemical element that does not currently exist and has not been synthesized. It is the proposed name for element 119, which would be the first element in the eighth period of the periodic table. As an alkali metal, it would be expected to be highly reactive and to have chemical properties similar to those of its lighter congeners like francium and cesium. Due to its extremely high atomic number, organessonine would be a superheavy element, and its nucleus would be highly unstable. It is predicted that any synthesized isotopes of organessonine would have very short half-lives, decaying rapidly into lighter elements through radioactive decay.
